Abbott’s Improved Card and Metal Plates (produced by Abbott's Magic Novelty Company of Colon, Michigan) is a classic pocket trick where a selected playing card magically penetrates two solid metal plates. Two metal plates are bound tightly together with rubber bands and placed into a wallet or slide holder. A spectator's playing card is dropped into the slide; when pulled free, the card is found magically trapped directly between the two securely rubber-banded metal plates.
Why Add It to Your Repertoire:
Manufactured by Abbott's Magic—one of the most celebrated names in American magic history—this vintage prop is a clever, self-contained penetration routine that packs completely flat. It requires virtually no complex sleight of hand, allowing the precision mechanical design to handle the secret work while you focus on presentation and pacing. Perfect for close-up performers, bar magicians, and vintage magic collectors, it offers a visual, tactile miracle that spectators can closely examine immediately before and after the effect.
