Instanto Rope ("Faster than Lightning", originated and protected by E.J. Moore of Columbus, Ohio) is a historic visual rope restoration and magic routine. The performer displays a length of rope tied into a circle or loop. Using scissors, the rope is visibly cut in half. The performer lowers the cut ends together into a cupped hand, and instantly—without tying knots or performing tedious joint switches—the two ends automatically fuse back together into a continuous, restored loop of rope right before the audience's eyes.
Why Add It to Your Repertoire:
E.J. Moore was a pioneering American magic builder famous for inventing foundational utility props (most notably introducing built-in magnetic joint assemblies to rope magic). Instanto Rope is historically significant as one of the very first commercial releases to utilize specially constructed internal magnets inside heavy braided rope to achieve instantaneous, hands-off rope restorations. It allows for clean visual restorations where the performer simply brings the ends in proximity and lets the magnetic lock engage invisibly. Complete with the original vintage magnetic core rope set, typewritten instruction manuscript, and original illustrated paper envelope featuring E.J. Moore's portrait, signature logo, and Columbus, Ohio address, this is an important piece of mid-century American magic manufacturing history.
