When they are separated again, all three white knots are seen to have jumped onto the red rope. Then the red rope with knots is rolled up and the bundle placed inside an empty glass. The white rope is rolled around the magician’s hand. After a magic word, the red rope is removed to show. It is free from the nuts. The white rope is uncoiled and the knots are back on the white rope.
