Spirit Nut (manufactured by the legendary Johnson Products of Arcadia, California) is a classic micro-penetration pocket trick. A solid-looking brass nut is threaded onto a pencil, string, or cord, with both ends held securely by a spectator. After a brief moment under a handkerchief or covered by the hands, the nut magically penetrates off the pencil or cord, dropping free while the obstacle remains completely intact.
