This was sold by Abbott’s Magic out of Hollywood CA and bears their stamp. During the post-WWII boom of the mid-to-late 1940s and 1950s, Abbott’s operated a major branch retail shop in Los Angeles, California alongside other regional retail branches in cities like New York, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, and Indianapolis.

Wessex Wizardry was written by Wm. G. Stickland ("The Wessex Wizard") and published in 1931 by magician and author Oswald Rae (Elmhurst, Spencers Wood, Reading).

Content: A classic British magic manuscript detailing original routines for platform, parlor, and children's show performers. It includes silk routines, ribbon tricks, mentalism, and clever prop subtleties designed by Stickland, who later served as the long-time Secretary of the British Ring (IBM Ring 25).

Format: Softcover/booklet printed on heavy, textured sage-green cardstock with a dark brown/maroon border and a classic line-art illustration of a wizard in robes brewing a cauldron.
